I am a firm believer that every space should be curated in a way that is both beautiful and practical. Just because something looks good, doesn’t mean it shouldn’t or won’t also function properly in your day-to-day life. If you focus too closely on the look of your set-up without giving much attention to making it pragmatic, it won’t last the test of time in your home.
Luckily, if you like my style and it translates well to the decor of your home, I have done all of the legwork for you! I partnered with one of my favourite local home decor stores, Boutique Cassine, to share my forever go-to staples that I use in all of my bathrooms and in my kitchen, as well of some new items that I selected to spruce up my countertop spaces.
You can also use my code: GABBY10 on all my favourite items, for 10% off your purchase.
Let’s start with the bathroom!… I broke it all down into four steps for you with links to essentials and some extras, so that you can visualize how to best set up your space:
1- Create a focal point
2- Accessorize practically
3- Add in some ambiance
4- Include a touch of luxe.
Create a focal point
Size out your space to figure out what kind of tray you should use to keep everything tidy on your counter. You can go round, square, rectangular, or, like I did here, you can select a more ornate shape to add a touch of glamour that elevates your set-up in a more contemporary way.
You also want to decide which items you will keep on display – remember that you want to maintain the practicality of your space. For me, it was important to keep out my cotton pads, Q-tips, Kleenex, a room diffuser, and my everyday products. These include my creams & serums and my perfume. With all those items out, but placed in an organized and appealing way, I am ensuring both style and efficiency.
Evidently, I also keep out soap and moisturizer next to each sink – and I promise there’s a way to make that look good too. Now, let’s explore how to elevate soap, a Kleenex box, some Q-tips, cotton pads, etc….
Accessorize Practically
Now that we determined that you can make your space pretty AND practical, let’s focus on the pretty. You’ve selected what products you want/need to keep out – if they’re the same as mine, I handpicked a selection of accessories that will allow you to present them in a decorative way.

Add some ambiance
I am a sucker for good, clean scents, and I believe that nothing sets the tone and mood more than a signature smell for your home. I think most of you know that I tend to stick to the same candles, soaps, and diffusers in my home, because I have found what works best for the mood and ambiance I am trying to achieve in every room. This includes all of the bathrooms in my home.
When I discovered the brand Lothantique, I became obsessed. There are two scents in particular that I buy on repeat: Lait (Milk) and Thé Blanc (White Tea). Both of which I use interchangeably in every bathroom of my house. Boutique Cassine carries all my favourites, allowing you to shop the whole collection for your preferred scent (you can shop a variety of different scents that Cassine carries, if my faves don’t speak to your taste)!

Include a touch of luxe
This is the part that I always say is entirely optional, but also what will take your bathroom from everyday, to hotel suite. It’s the little touch that will elevate and add some glam. I personally like to add fresh flowers to a pretty vase, but a great, no-fuss alternative, are silk flowers and Cassine carries a beautiful selection. Like they say, it’s all in the details!

Now onto the kitchen!…
Create a pretty sink moment
Now let’s highlight my kitchen sink must-haves. We all know that the importance of hand-washing has been one of, if not the, most repeated message this past year. So why not do it in style? I have used these marble holders in my kitchen and bathrooms for years – they keep the drip from the soap dispenser off my counter, and consolidate everything in a neat and tidy way.
For the kitchen, I am forever loyal to the Savon De Marseille line of soaps. Every scent that I have ever tried was delicious. I love that they come in glass pump dispensers, because they don’t damage over time. What’s even better is that it’s a sustainable choice, since you can buy big bottle refills of your favourite scent and reuse the same glass container over and over again (hint hint: I have had mine for six years and just keep refilling it!!!). I have linked all of my favourite scents below.
Since I am constantly washing my hands (and cooking), I have also included my small marble bowl that I use as a sink-side ring dish. It has become one of my ultimate essentials.
